Was bedeutet eigentlich Thriller?
Gute Thriller ziehen uns in ihren Bann und fesseln uns am Wochenende an die Couch. Bis zur letzten Seite tauchen wir in eine neue Welt ein. Schlechte Thriller legen wir bei Zeiten auch relativ schnell zur Seite. Aber was ist genau ein Thriller?
Ein Blick ins Wörtbuch gibt den ersten Hinweis. Thrill bedeutet Nervenkitzel. Als Thriller bezeichnet man Bücher oder Filme die es schaffen, über die gesamte Zeit spannend zu sein. Der Spannungsbogen wird sozusagen bis zum Ende ausgereizt.
Oftmals überschneiden sich Thriller mit dem Mystery-Genre oder einem spannenden Krimi. Die Spannungsbögen sind bei Thrillern allerdings meistens deutlich länger. Auch beim Höhepunkt gibt es Unterschiede. Während beim Kriminalroman die Aufklärung des Falles den Höhepunkt darstellt geht der Thriller noch ein Stück weiter. Der Höhepunkt in einem Thriller liegt neben dem Lösen eines “Falles” des öfteren im Sieg über einen Gegner und damit die Rettung von sich selbst und/ oder anderen Personen. Die Konfrontation mit einem Widersacher spielt sich im Vergleich zum Kriminalroman nicht nur auf Faktenebene ab, sondern bezieht seelische, moralische und insbesondere psychologische Einflussfaktoren ein. Ein weiteres Merkmal eines Thrillers ist der Schluss und die Rolle der Hauptrolle darin. Happy End Liebhaber kommen da meisten nicht auf Ihre Kosten. Der Held stirbt oft oder erleidet einen anderen Schicksalsschlag.
Fokussiert die Handlung auf die Psyche oder die Rollen/ Figuren in einem Thriller spricht man von einem Psychotrhiller. Hier legt der Autor den Schwerpunkt oftmals auf Emotionen und Zwischenmenschliches. Er dehnt die Charakterisierung von teilnehmenden Personen aus und legt Wert auf die Abhandlung von Vorgeschichten und Merkmalen der Thriller-Figuren.
