Erfreuliche Nachrichten für alle Freunde der englischen Kriminalliteratur: die Werke von Altmeister Edgar Wallace werden nach und nach zu eBooks konvertiert und dann zu recht passablen Preisen auf den gängigen eBook Downloadportalen angeboten. So bietet beispielsweise Libri derzeit 52 Thriller eBooks von Edgar Wallace zu Preisen von maximal 7 Euro an. Auch Buecher.de führt immerhin acht Werke des erfolgreichen englischen Autoren zu jeweils 2,50 Euro.
Ganz besondere Erwähnung sollte an dieser Stelle mal wieder das Projekt Gutenberg finden. Hier gibt es ganze zwölf eBooks des Erfolgsautors, der unter anderem mit seinem Roman Der Hexer weltweiten Erfolg auch auf der Kinoleinwand feierte, im freien ePub-Format kostenlos zum herunterladen. Ferner kann man das schon 1954 erschienene Wallace-Werk The Clue of the Twisted Candle (deutscher Originaltitel Die gebogene Kerze) als englischsprachiges Hörbuch kostenlos erwerben.
Bei Google Books gibt es eine Übersicht der von Edgar Wallace geschriebenen Thriller und Kriminalromane. Teilweise können die Bücher auch eingeschränkt kostenlos gelesen werden.
