Der Spiegel schreibt, das eBook ist “das Meisterstück” des norwegischen Autors Jo Nesbø. Moderator Jörg Thadeusz schreibt in der Berliner Zeitung Schneemann sei “sein derzeitiger Lieblingskrimi”. Auch Thriller eBooks ist der Ansicht, dass dem Autoren mit Schneemann wieder ein grandioser Krimi um die Hautpfigur des Kommissars und Alkoholikers Harry Hole gelungen ist.
In Norwegen treibt ein Serienmörder sein Unwesen. Seine Opfer sind immer junge Mütter, der Tathergang ist immer gleich. Zuerst ermordet der Killer seine Opfer auf brutalste Weise und hinterlässt dann in ihren Gärten einen Schneemann. Kommissar Harry Hole nimmt, zusammen mit seiner neuen Kollegin Katrine Bratt, die Ermittlungen auf. Zunächst scheint es, dass es zwischen den Mordopfern, bis auf die Tatsache, dass sie junge Mütter sind, keinen direkten Zusammenhang gibt. Während das Morden weiter geht, kommen die Ermittler auf eine Spur, die sie zu einem plastischen Chirurgen führt. Als der Verdacht dann auch noch auf Harry Hole fällt, bekommt der Fall weitere Brisanz und ein Wettlauf gegen die Zeit beginnt.
Nun mag sich der ein oder andere Leser denken, dass sich das eBook Schneemann als gefühlter 1000. Thriller um einen Serienmörder und seinem personalisiertem Zweikampf mit einem alkoholkranken kauzigen Kriminalermittler einreiht. Doch nicht nur die eingangs erwähnten Huldigen bestätigen, dass Jo Nesbø mit seinem neuesten eBook ein wahrhaft genialer Coup gelungen ist. Geschickt spannt er ein Netz aus den Fragmenten der Ermittlung, die Harry Hole zunächst auf eigene Faust durchführt. Gewohnt brilliant setzt er seinen Protagonisten aber auch Nebenfiguren der Handlung oder neue Charaktere, wie Hole’s neue Kollegin Bratt, in Szene. So erschütternd und beängstigend das Werk geschrieben ist, umso spannender und fesselnder ist die Story. Einzig neue Leser des Autors könnten zeitweise ob der Bezüge zu früheren Büchern verschreckt werden. Der Qualität der Kriminalgeschichte schadet dies nicht. Schneemann von Jo Nesbø, ein wahrhaftig großartiges eBook!
