Nachdem Kalte Asche große konzeptionelle Ähnlichkeiten zum Vorgänger Die Chemie des Todes aufweiste, geht Beckett mit seinem neuesten Thriller eBook einen Schritt weiter. Erstmals lässt er uns detailliert in die Psyche des Killers blicken und ihn seine Beweggründe und Sicht der Dinge nachvollziehen. Auch örtlich gesehen zeigt der neueste Roman eine Veränderung, hat der Autor die Handlung von der englischen Provinz nach Knoxville mitten im amerikanischen Tennessee verlegt. Gewohnt detailliert und spannend schildert Beckett die Ermittlungen sowie den Zustand der Mordopfer und auch die zuvor beschriebene Perspektive des Mörders gelingt durchaus. Leider leidet die Handlung im dritten eBook der David-Hunter-Reihe. So folgt der Verlauf der Geschichte nicht stringent einem roten Faden und wirkt vielfach ungeplant, um nicht zu sagen zufällig. Auch die Beschreibung der verschiedenen Charaktere zeugt außer besagtem Mörder nicht von Profil und gestaltet sich zuweilen klischeehaft. Nichtsdestotrotz, als begeisterter Anhänger von Simon Beckett und seinem Protagonisten habe ich auch dieses eBook verschlungen und nicht umsonst wurde Leichenblässe direkt in die Top 5 (Stand 08.11.2009) der Krimi & Thriller eBooks Bestsellerliste bei Libri katapultiert. Alles in allem erwartet den Leser ein lesenswerter Thriller, der sich von seinen Vorgängern durchaus unterscheidet aber kurweilige und spannende Leseabende bereiten kann. Für Fans von Simon Beckett ist Leichenblässe in jedem Fall ein absolutes Muss!
